Pinkard’s Blake Chambliss Retires After 41 Years with Company

October 29, 2025

Pinkard Construction is bidding farewell to one of its longest-serving team members as Vice President and former Chief Operating Officer Blake Chambliss officially retires after 41 years of service to the company.

First hired in 1984, Chambliss began his career as a journeyman carpenter with Pinkard, steadily rising to Carpentry Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, and then Superintendent by the 1990s. In 2004 he was promoted to Field Manager, and later Construction Manager, before being named COO in 2022. For the past year he has served as Vice President and Director of Construction Resources, as new Pinkard COO Tom Alford has transitioned into the role.

His long, diverse history of projects includes 10 recreation centers, dozens of affordable, senior and multifamily housing developments, a tropical conservatory at the Denver Zoo, a space command center for United Launch Alliance, and the first dedicated lacrosse stadium in the country for the University of Denver. Four of his projects won the National Excellence in Construction awards.

“Blake has been an important member of Pinkard’s leadership for 20 years,” says President Tony Burke. “His professionalism and passion for high-quality building and high-class customer service have helped to set the tone for Pinkard’s commitment to ‘Raising the Standard.’ Thank you, Blake!”
