Colorado State University's first new residence hall since 1967 began in the Spring of 2003 and is a 118,000 gross sf, 535-bed facility. The project is the first phase of a housing master plan that will bring all of CSU's dorms up to date and help the university solve its recent on-campus housing crunch.
The 175 suites are comprised of one, two, or three-person suites, with one restroom in each suite. The four-story structure includes common spaces and support spaces on the lower and basement levels for laundry, vending, common gathering areas, and administrative spaces. The lower level is designed as a garden level with natural light.
Landscaping takes up approximately 45% of the site and includes picnic areas, recreational areas, intimate and informal areas, and circulation, with vehicle parking for 260 and bicycle parking for 400.
