With great sadness, Pinkard Construction shares the death of Dale Young, director of field operations.
Since he started with Pinkard as a senior superintendent in 2017, Dale has been a trusted colleague, mentor, advisor, and friend.
As a senior superintendent, Dale was at the helm of the $42 M Vida on Sloan’s Lake project for Denver Housing Authority. His unique approaches to this complex project were key to its success. The project went on to win a National Excellence in Construction Award from Associated Builders and Contractors.
Following his promotion to director of field operations in 2020, Dale excelled at mentoring his teams to solve complex problems and deliver excellent service and high-quality end products to our clients. Dale was instrumental in bringing big ideas, new processes, and consistency to Pinkard’s field operations. He was also highly invested in his colleagues' professional and personal success.
"Dale cared deeply about his commitments, our projects, and his clients, team members, and friends," Pinkard president Tony Burke said, “Dale was one of the sharpest minds in construction I’ve ever encountered. But more than that, he was a man of high character who could be counted upon to do the right thing.”
A 25-year construction industry veteran, Dale held a degree in engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He worked in a variety of roles for other general contractors, including Brinkman, Shaw, Saunders, and The Neenan Company. He made his mark on our industry and will be dearly missed by so many.
As we mourn the loss of Dale, our thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends.
We will share updates on services, etc. as we receive information.
