Project Description
Centura Health's new 10,000 square foot Lakewood emergency department contains ten exam rooms, a trauma room, laboratory, digital radiology room, bariatrics room, CT scan room, med prep area, decontamination room, extensive med gas, and a drive-up EMS entrance.
The ten exam rooms include one pediatric exam room and one psychiatric "safe room" holding area.
The ground-up facility is on a structural slab with structural steel, metal panels, glass curtainwall, stucco and stone, and an emergency generator.
While a typical urgent care is not equipped to treat emergency conditions, Centura Health Emergency & Urgent Care locations provide patients with emergency and urgent care services in the same facility. They are staffed 24-hours a day, seven days a week by Centura Health-affiliated board-certified emergency physicians, emergency-trained nurses, radiologic technologists, and other clinical specialists.
