Pinkard Completes Construction On Senior Living Project in Loveland Pinkard Completes Construction On Senior Living Project in Loveland January 4, 2023 Share Share Pinkard Construction, a Senior Living general contractor celebrating 60 years in Colorado, has completed construction on Hunt Midwest’s Capstone at Centerra. This senior living project designed by Pi Architects includes assisted living and memory care. It will be operated by Integral Senior Living. A grand opening was held on November 14th with representatives from Hunt Midwest, ISL, Pinkard, Pi, and the community. Construction lasted approximately 15 months and was completed on time and within budget. “Pinkard really understands senior living and multi-family projects, which created a smooth, predictable construction process,” said Jeff Redhage, director of construction management for Hunt Midwest. “Capstone at Centerra will offer residents a variety of engaging amenities, including a great room, a formal dining room, a fitness center, a salon, a bistro lounge, a sunroom, walking trails, a gazebo, and a dog park.” The senior living community will offer 102 assisted living and memory care suites, with accommodations for as many as 114 residents. Located in the 3,000-acre Centerra master-planned development, the interior and exterior design of the two-story, 79,000-square-foot senior-housing community was inspired by surrounding architecture and northern Colorado’s natural scenery. “I am excited to celebrate all the hard work we put in with Hunt Midwest, ISL and Pi Architects to add more Senior Living options to Loveland,” said Derek Stathis, Construction Manager for Pinkard Construction. “Northern Colorado needs more communities to serve our seniors and their families. We are proud to be a part of bringing this project to Loveland.” To date, Pinkard has completed over 95 senior living housing projects and almost 200 multi-family projects, totaling $3.9 Billion worth of construction. Pinkard provided expert construction services for Town of Erie on the Leon A Wurl Service Center project. Leon A Wurl Service Center Erie, CO, USA Town of Erie 26,288 Sq. Ft. Public Projects, Industrial, First Responder, Fleet/Maintenance, Ground Up The Leon A. Wurl Service Center is a maintenance, shops and office facility for the Town of Erie Public Works Department and Parks Department. It features a 9,560 sf Class "B" office building that connects with a 16,728 sf maintenance building on approximately 7.5 developed acres. Sustainable features on the maintenance building include: White TPO roof Photovoltaic panels with a power purchase agreement Full heat recovery Recycled asphalt Low-emitting materials Instant-hot water units The Center also includes a 250,000 sf service yard with a 3,000 gallon fueling station, magnesium chloride/salt storage facility and truck wash pad. An intensive preconstruction planning phase kept design-related changes to .6%, or 75% below the industry average. The final contract was $202,000 below the original contract. Pinkard completed this fast-tracked project 56 days ahead of schedule, allowing the Town of Erie to completely relocate its maintenance operations well ahead of the winter season. Ft., 96 Units Healthcare, Senior Living, Market Rate, Med Gas, Structural Steel Superstructure, Gymnasium, Commercial Kitchen, Skilled Nursing, Ground Up, Rehabilitation The Center at Northridge is a high-end skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility with spacious surroundings, unobstructed views of the Continental Divide, and finishes that rival high-end hotels. The Center is a 75,700 SF, three-story, steel-framed building on spread footings, stem walls, and three elevators, all on a 4.96-acre site. The second and third floors include 96 private patient suites with private bathrooms, 16 of which are observation rooms with oxygen and medical vacuum systems, as well as activity areas. The first floor includes a rehabilitation gym, full-service kitchen and fine-dining area, salon, large lobby and fireplace, and administrative office space. Other building features include carpet tiles and ceramic floor tile, and quartz countertops in public spaces; patient rooms have luxury plank vinyl tile, solid surface Corian counters, custom, built-in wardrobes/armoires, and high end light fixtures throughout. Nursing stations feature custom millwork and tile accent walls. The building exterior features a radiused, 30-foot high curtain wall and aluminum storefront windows, EIFS, brick, and stone veneer. Sitework included 10-foot over-excavation with structural soil infill at footings, retaining walls, and an asphalt parking lot. Dave is a passionate advocate for creating a culture of safety that extends beyond the workplace. “For me, safety comes down to one thing: your why. For most of us, that’s our loved ones. Working safe, for us and for everyone around us, means coming home healthy and whole every single day.”  That’s why Safety Dave rejects the old saying “Safety First,” instead preaching the mantra, “Family first, safety always.”  Dave continues: “We want to make sure that everyone who works for us knows that their safety is key to the success of our company. And it means making sure that everyone else on our jobsite—fellow workers, neighbors, passers-by and visitors to the site—do too.” Rather than simply policing safety violations, Pinkard believes that creating a positive culture of safety is the key to ensuring everyone on the job site stays safe. “We want to create a culture where safety is not just a set of rules and regulations, but an integral part of the way we work,” Dave explains. “We make sure people know their ‘why’ and then we equip them with the best possible training. We create processes and procedures that make it easy to work safely. The facility features a vibrant zero-entry aquatic area complete with water slides, geysers, a current channel, and lap lanes, alongside a cutting-edge gymnastics center, gymnasium, fitness studios, pickleball courts, and outdoor workout spaces that embrace Colorado’s scenery and climate. More than simply a recreation facility, Bison Ridge was thoughtfully designed to serve residents of all ages, incorporating public art, childcare services, and flexible event spaces capable of hosting everything from birthday celebrations to wedding receptions. Developing the greenfield site required significant infrastructure work in addition to the vertical construction, all while navigating the challenges of Colorado’s demanding winter conditions. Rather than allowing the schedule to be impacted, Pinkard identified opportunities to improve efficiency and value. By utilizing tilt-up construction in place of traditional block masonry walls, the team reduced project costs by $340,000 and accelerated the schedule by six weeks. When unforeseen issues involving soil conditions and foundation performance emerged, Pinkard responded with collaboration and innovation. The team organized a “dirt summit,” bringing together 14 industry experts to evaluate the challenge and develop the best path forward. The solution not only delivered a stronger structural system, but also generated nearly $950,000 in savings for the City. Pinkard provided expert construction services for City of Golden on the Golden Public Works Facility project. Golden Public Works Facility Golden, CO, USA City of Golden Seven structures on 29 acres Public Projects, Industrial, Fleet/Maintenance, Ground Up Pinkard Construction acted as CM/GC for the City of Golden's new Public Works Facility. Scope of work included construction of new facilities and site selection feasibility analyses. The new facilities include: Fleet Maintenance Facility (CMU, steel and veneer), Shops Facility (CMU, steel and veneer), Heated Vehicle Storage Facility (premanufactured steel), Bulk Storage and Mixing Facility (28' high concrete and engineered-wood), Covered Vehicle Storage (24' high engineered-wood), Vehicle Wash Building with precast roof panels and CMU walls, Outdoor Washbay canopy, and 20,000 gallon underground fuel tank. Stormwater management was a major issue on the steeply sloped, 29.3 acre site adjacent to a major state highway. Constant site changes required corresponding modifications to our Best Management Practices, which included a series of silt fences, asphalt and dirt berms, rock check dams, inlet protection, street sweeping, erosion control blankets, native seeding, and silt removal. Pinkard's stormwater management had zero citations over the course of nearly 70 inspections in 13 months. Centura Health Indian Peaks Urgency Center Frederick, CO, USA Centura Health - Corporate Offices 10,000 Sq. Ft. Healthcare, Emergency Rooms, Isolation Rooms, Med Gas, Ground Up The Indian Peaks project was the conversion of an existing, two-year-old Urgent Care Center into an Emergency/Urgent Care facility complete with a new ambulance entrance, new exam rooms, and a CAT scan room build-out. All existing patient care/support areas were demolished and replaced with nine new general exam rooms with one for patient isolation. A tenth room services higher acuity and bariatric patients. Other new support areas include a centrally located medication room, storage, soiled, nourishment, and toilet rooms, a CT room build-out, plus minor revisions to the patient walk-in entry at the reception, check-in, and waiting areas. The west side of the building received a new ambulance canopy and drive. The employee outdoor garden was relocated to the northwest corner of the site. A new backup generator was also added. Denver, Colorado, USA Coors Distributing Company 61,000 Sq. Ft. Industrial The 61,000 square foot, tilt-up concrete and structural steel expansion project houses a state-of-the-art Vertique semi-automated palletizing system featuring four cascading beer case distribution towers. Robotic palletizers, shrink wrappers, and a conveyor system sort and repack pallets to fill individual orders, which are then distributed to the 14 new truck docks. The entire warehouse addition design was completed using 3D software to allow for BIM coordination between the building's structure/systems infrastructure and the Vertique packaging system. Other spaces and features of the new warehouse include an operations office, truck receiving and repackaging, a 16,000 sf snow-melt system, fresh-air ventilation and extensive daylighting.
